Lakeview New Orleans Neighborhood History

    History of Lakeview New Orleans

One of the most popular neighborhoods in New Orleans, Lakeview has a long history. More suburban than living in the heart of the city, it’s been the comeback kid of neighborhoods after Katrina decimated the housing stock.

Filled with new construction and some stellar renovations, most homes sit on large lots and have off street parking. Don’t expect bargain basement prices though – this is a demand neighborhood and the prices reflect it.

The Lakeview Civic Association was established in 1924 and helps keep residents up to date on events and quality of life issues.
