New Orleans Real Estate :: Spring Selling Season
Every real estate agent in the world knows about the spring selling season. It’s that time of year when buyers come out of hibernation and begin searching in earnest for their next house.
In cold climates, it starts when the ground thaws and they quit having to plow the roads to get to a house. In New Orleans real estate, our season kicks off when the bead trees are in full bloom and the last Mardi Gras parade has passed.
Historically, the number of active listings peaks in May, which just happens to be the busiest real estate month in New Orleans. While the number of listings ramp up from March through May, actual sales are the highest from May through August.
What does this mean for New Orleans home sellers?
You’re running out of time to get on the market for the time of year with the most possible buyers. Sales that happen in May are preceded by spring listings. It’s go time!
