Things to Do in NOLA | Sunday Bar Bingo at the Half Moon

    This ain’t grandma’s bingo.

This is bingo in New Orleans.

    In a bar.

Designed to fill those Sunday afternoons when it’s not football season, bingo at the Half Moon Bar has become a summer tradition in the Lower Garden District.

Running from 2-4 pm every Sunday, there’s a rotating cast of irreverent callers and a dedicated group of folks just waiting to hear B11.

Free to play, there are drink specials each week, ranging from mimosas and beer to specialty drinks based on whatever fruit or veggie is in season at the moment. Think Pimm’s Cups with fresh cucumber puree and you’ll get the idea…

The prizes are just as distinctive as the event Рbeer, coozies, bar tabs and an ever changing selection of items from the dollar bin at Chez Target. Jump ropes, headbands, CDs, DVDs and more.

Players range from bar regulars to neighborhood residents and everyone is welcome to join in. Be aware that if you’re involved in a tie, you’ll be expected to dance off against the other winner, with the crowd choosing the ultimate victor.

    See you this Sunday?

Half Moon Bar and Grill is located at 1125 St. Mary St, New Orleans LA
